Job Description Job Title: Automation Engineer
Peterborough – Hybrid (Office 1-2 Days Per Week)
Hours: Mon-Fri, 8.My client is a leading UK food tech company dedicated to assisting food manufacturers in automate, through AI, Robotics and Automation. They have a robust training ethos which emphasises on-the-job learning and supports professional qualifications.

An opportunity has arisen for a Automation Engineer. In this role, you'll collaborate on applications and modules destined for industrial and factory settings, catering to esteemed global manufacturers. You will be deeply involved in projects, swiftly becoming an integral part of the team.

Collaborate within a development team or autonomously to enhance and maintain current software while also developing new software.
Conduct comprehensive testing of software, including automated unit and integration tests.
Document software solutions developed to facilitate support and future development, emphasising clear commentary and structured software.
Ensure compliance with pertinent health and safety regulations and quality standards.
Travel to customer sites in the UK and abroad to implement new software deployments.

Minimum BSc Higher Degree in Computer Science or related IT field with a focus on programming (consideration given to applicants with degrees in other disciplines but possess substantial commercial software experience).
Proficiency in integrating multiple programming languages.
Possession of a full UK driving license.

Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM framework.
Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA
Familiarity with Web Technologies such as ASP.Net, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Java etc
Robotics control
VB6/VBA
