Mitie Telecoms Structural Engineer Position
Mitie Telecoms is a leading provider of acquisition, design, and construction (ADC) services, specializing in managed services of temporary mobile infrastructure, and facilities maintenance for telecoms. Our teams' design, installation, and maintenance experience, combined with Mitie's cutting-edge technology and scale, have established us as a new force in the telecoms industry, offering exciting opportunities to join a growing organization.
We are currently seeking a Structural Engineer to join our team at the Tewkesbury office for Maternity Cover for 12 months. The Engineer will be responsible for ensuring all project activities are carried out efficiently and effectively to meet client and business requirements. They will also complete required Health & Safety training to allow site attendance as part of their role.
Main Duties:- Designer for projects such as: Civils/Steel Frame/Piling and concrete; Telecoms rooftop design; Rip and Replace sites - Special Foundations; End of life and structural failure solutions
- Analysis of Telecom structures and production of calculations
- Attend site to survey structures and identify required elements for structural calculations
- Production of sketches and drawings by hand and using AutoCad
- General problem-solving in engineering
- Ensure project work is completed within deadlines and budget
- Check contractor designs and fabrication drawings
- Design in accordance with current design standards and regulations
- Support other projects as needed due to the dynamic nature of the Telecom industry
- BEng in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Team player with the ability to manage others
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Design flair and ability to propose solutions to clients
- Able to prioritize work, use own initiative, and apply judgment
- Enthusiasm, imagination, and willingness to learn and adapt
- Ability to work within budgets
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
- Willingness and ability to learn how to use other systems
