Software Test Technician - 12 month contract (Hybrid)

Responsible for the growth of our world leading wafer handling and process systems, the Platform Engineering Group, Based in Newport, Wales, are seeking a Software Test Technician to join our team on a fixed term contract.

Purpose of the role

As part of the software QA team, this important role will apply your interest in science and technology to test our new and old software.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Run manual software tests for each new software release
  • Write test documentation to an agreed standard
  • Build a library of regression test documentation
  • Accurately document test results
  • Run tests to replicate reported field issues, to help the development team fix faults

Experience, knowledge & qualifications required:

  • Although preferred, no prior testing experience is needed, as full training will be given
  • Good GCSE grades in English, Maths and a Science subject are essential
  • A levels in Maths and/or Science subjects preferred

For this role we are looking for someone who has:

  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Able to think logically and work in a structured way
  • Good understanding of PCs and the Windows operating systems
  • Good time management to deliver results within strictly defined release schedules
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Resilient with the ability and flexibility to respond to changing priorities

Working hours: Days with flexibility
