We are expanding our team and need a strong Presales Engineer with experience in designing communications networks using satellite and terrestrial technology. You should be able to provide technical sales support in the pre-sales phase to a variety of customers across Europe, in various sectors. This will include creating network designs and presenting them to customers, and defining, demonstrating and leading test installations on customer premises. You would also provide support post-sale, including periodic review of network sizing with operations and keeping customers informed of new opportunities to grow their network.
Creating the design, sizing and costing of new networks.
Representing the Company, as a technical lead, at customer meetings prior to sale.
Providing technical input for bids and tenders and drafting any bid-specific parts of resulting contract.
Product definition, including identifying and testing new features, platforms and products, including new hardware and software; Defining the design of the customer pilot and technical management at implementation stage.
Supporting the sizing review of customer networks, post-sale, and providing technical support for any ‘upsell’ opportunities.
Proven and significant experience in both core network and access network design, connectivity technologies, with strength in satellite and also terrestrial, and wireless (4G, 5G) implementation, and knowledge of SDWAN, Cloud services and application requirements over networks.
~5+ years in wide-area network presales engineering or system engineering of satellite comms networks, and wireless networks.
~ A good understanding of the latest network technologies such as: Experience in writing proposals and responding to tenders.
~ In possession of an affinity with both sales and technology functions, and a ‘commercial’ approach.
~ An undergraduate honours degree in a relevant technical discipline (ideally Telecommunications or Communications).
Full driving licence.
Ability to travel within Europe occasionally.
Hybrid working will allow up to three days a week working from home.)
