Exploration Geologist

Contract: Fixed term contract for 12 months
Are you a Geologist passioned about Mining? What about an opportunity to work in the Dorset countryside on an exploration project for Imerys?
The project: You will manage the upcoming 2024 Dorset Ball Clay exploration project, logging and sampling of drill core. Your focus will be primarily with the UK Ball Clays geology and mining area which extracts approximately 300k tonnes of ore and 2M tonnes of waste annually.
The key aspect of your role is to manage the Dorset 2024 and future exploration projects. As our Geologist, you will assist in the digitisation of historical drilling records and propose and define future exploration campaigns in conjunction with the geology team.
Pre and post site surveys,
Contractor management,
Liaison with QC laboratory for testing,
Validating assays and database management,
Collaboration with the wider geology and mining team.

Degree level qualified in science or engineering.
Geology or exploration geology direct and relevant experience working in mining. Direct and relevant experience in project management and delivery on-time and on-budget.
Full driving licence.
Excellent IT skills together with familiarisation of one of the major geological modelling software packages, preferably GEOVIA (Surpac) or Seequent (Leapfrog/ MXDeposit).
