Job Title: Asbestos Lab Analyst Location: Newcastle, Tyne and Wear Salary / Benefits: £22k - £28k + Flexible working hours Successful asbestos consultancy, with longstanding office and site staff, is currently recruiting for an experienced asbestos lab analyst to join their North East office. Candidates will be using the P401 qualification to undertake the analysis of suspected ACMs. Applicants must have experience working within a UKAS accredited asbestos laboratory. Our client is happy to receive applications from those seeking both full time and part time hours. Candidates will have good access to the North East, including; Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Durham, Darlington, Hartlepool, Bishop Auckland, South Shields, Hexham, Washington, Whitley Bay, Alnwick, Consett, Ashington and the surrounding areas. Experience / Qualifications:
- BOHS P401 (essential).
- Experience working as an asbestos lab analyst within a UKAS accredited consultancy.
- Able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of HSG 248 regulations.
- Keen eye for detail.
- Friendly and professional demeanour,
- Analysing asbestos bulk samples for the for the presence of asbestos.
- Carrying out all work to professional standards including the companies internal procedures, HSG guidelines and UKAS standards.
- Participating in internal quality assurance analysis schemes and AIMS.
- Maintaining a clean and tidy lab at all times.
- Calibration of all laboratory equipment.
- Results and entering on to internal databases.
- Sending asbestos analysis reports to relevant department.
