The Opportunity

Join our team as a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter on the night shift at Bardon Hill Quarry, our flagship site for Aggregate Industries. This is a full-time, permanent role that offers you a unique opportunity to bring your mechanical expertise to a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. Working on a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern, youll be essential in keeping our plant running smoothly and supporting continuous improvement.   • Perform essential maintenance tasks, including inspections, repairs, and equipment upgrades.
  • Ensure all work aligns with safety standards and contributes to a safe working environment.
  • Identify potential issues early, helping to prevent unplanned downtime during production during the day shift.
  • Carry out routine assessments to ensure machinery and structures remain reliable.
  • Focus on continuous improvement, driving efficiency and performance across the site.
  • Collaborate with the team to maximize resource use and ensure smooth, 24/7 operations.

Who you are

Youre a hands-on mechanical professional with experience in an industrial setting, ready to make a positive impact on our team.

  • You have solid mechanical maintenance skills, ideally with experience in quarry or heavy manufacturing settings but isn't essential.
  • Have a minimum of a level 3 NVQ in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Safety is your top priority, and youre committed to following all necessary protocols
  • Youre comfortable working independently and know how to collaborate well with others
  • You can solve problems quickly, minimising equipment downtime
  • You pay close attention to detail, carrying out inspections and maintenance tasks with care
  • Youre adaptable and motivated, ready to thrive on a rotating night shift.
