Senior Fire Engineer – Manchester

Vertical Recruitment are working with one of the industry’s most sought-after Fire Engineering Consultancies, with an immediate need for a Senior Fire Engineer in Manchester. This excellent opportunity is due to sustained growth within the business and delivers a clear roadmap for career progression.

Candidates must have the following experience:

  1. 4 years of relevant experience within Fire Engineering.
  2. Qualified full member of the Institute of Fire Engineers, (CEng, MIFireE) would be desirable.
  3. Expertise in delivering fire safety engineering solutions in a multi-disciplinary environment with solid experience in developing fire strategies, undertaking engineering analysis and applying performance-based designs with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
  4. Leadership, planning, and practical solution skills.

Your role and responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  1. Familiar with RIBA stages of design or other design frameworks (e.g. GRIP) and understand the total fire concept: from the client brief through to construction and operation, the fire engineering challenges relevant to different design stages and the level/type of fire engineering input required to progress the design and contribute to completion.
  2. Fire safety assessments and develop fire safety strategies for a variety of building types and occupancies.
  3. Fire safety engineering calculations and modeling using relevant software.
  4. Work with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to provide expert advice on fire safety and fire engineering matters, and train junior fire engineers within the team.
  5. Report-writing skills.
  6. Up to date with relevant fire safety legislation and industry best practices.
