CNC Turner - Setter, Operator Permanent - Full time - (Double days shift) Location: Poole Salary: £39,000 inc shift allowance We are seeking a skilled Setter Operator with expertise in CNC machining processes to join our team. The ideal candidate will apply a logical approach to produce components to drawing tolerances within the quality specification. While sliding head experience is preferable, it is not a requirement for this role. Day to Day of the role: Advise on the best production methods, tooling, holding devices, and provide minor editing of CNC programs in collaboration with Production Engineering. Ensure all risk and COSHH assessments are up to date and that employees understand relevant responsibilities. Set up CNC machines according to provided setup sheets, make necessary amendments, and communicate changes to Production Engineering. Prove and optimise manufacturing methods for production efficiency. Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately. Select appropriate tooling and holding devices for manufacturing. Implement best practice setups and liaise with operators for efficient production. Coordinate with Production Engineers for specialised tooling requirements. Manufacture components to correct drawing specifications and conduct first-off inspections. Record set and run times, complete OEE data sheets, and maintain production targets. Complete necessary quality documentation and uphold Lean principles. Ensure tooling and gauging are maintained to high standards. Communicate any issues or manufacturing improvements identified. Required Skills & Qualifications: Significant experience in setting and running CNC turning or mill/turn machines. Apprenticeship trained in a relevant field. Familiarity with Fanuc programming. Positive attitude and ability to work calmly under pressure. Strong team player with excellent communication skills. Committed to meeting deadlines and achieving satisfactory job conclusions. High level of attention to detail and PC literacy. Desirable Skills: Experience in running and setting sliding head CNC machines. Advanced Fanuc programming experience.
