Crime Solicitor

A well-established law firm in Derby is currently seeking a Criminal Solicitor with approximately 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the criminal department, contributing their expertise to the legal team. Responsibilities: Manage a varied caseload of criminal matters. Handle cases from initial police station representation through to court proceedings. Hold necessary police station accreditations to provide effective and comprehensive representation to clients during police interviews. Ensure compliance with legal procedures and standards in criminal defence. Participate in the duty solicitor rota, providing on-call services for clients in need of immediate representation. Attend police stations promptly to offer legal advice and representation. Represent clients in Magistrates' Courts and, when required, Crown Courts. Conduct legal research and prepare cases for trial, ensuring a robust defence for clients. Provide clear and concise legal advice to clients, explaining their rights and options at each stage of the criminal process. Build strong client relationships based on trust and effective communication. Qualifications and Skills: Qualified Solicitor with 3 to 5 years of PQE in criminal law. Police station accreditations are essential. Experience in handling a diverse range of criminal cases. Ability to work on the duty solicitor rota and respond promptly to police station callouts.
