Rotational Physiotherapist

We're looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Band 5 Physiotherapist to join our Core Therapies team here at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. You will have the opportunity to complete 4 month rotations in a number of exciting specialisms including critical care, neurosurgery, stoke, orthopaedics, medicine, surgery and MSK. We're also a Major Trauma center and a regional center for Neurological, Vascular and Renal care so we can guarantee you will have a wide variety of experiences.
Within Core Therapies we know how to have fun We recently hosted a celebratory party for the department, bake off competition and regularly have Fun Thursdays within teams. More seriously we have a robust preceptorship package if you are newly qualified, excellent on call training and a band 5 buddy system. We also have monthly band 5 forum where you can meet with your peers for updates and training, and of course organising social gatherings.
Following robust training you will join the evening and weekend respiratory on call rota. Also some of our teams provide a 6 or 7 service and as a whole department we are working towards a 7 day model of care so you would be expected to participate and support this working pattern.
You will be able to consolidate and develop your assessment and treatment skills in a variety of clinical settings, with support from a clinical supervisor as well as regular team in-service training. There will also be the opportunity to be involved with supervision of students, service development and education. Duties to include, but not be limited to:
- To communicate and collaborate with all of Core Therapies stakeholders
- To support personal and people development
- To help to ensure the health, safety and security of users of the service, self and colleagues
- To support service development and planning
- To support the Clinical Governance and Quality agenda within the service
- To support equality of opportunity and access within Core Therapy services for both staff and patients.
- To support financial and other resource management within Core Therapies
- To provide and use information to support admin processes and patient care
- To directly support the delivery of therapy to patients
- HCPC registered
- Degree in Physiotherapy
- Commitment to CPD
- Member of the CSP
- Clinical Educator
- Relevant clinical courses/education
- Range of clinical placements
- Experience of working within the MDT
- Organising and prioritising workload effectively
- Working within an MDT including appropriate joint assessments
- Experience of research/audit
- Presenting information clearly to both therapy staff and MDT members
