We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking Locum Consultant Radiologist to work within the Directorate of Radiology covering North Cumbria, based at either the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle or West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven. This post has arisen through an investment in the Radiology department to meet the ever growing demand for diagnostic imaging. Consultant Radiologists will be required to work across site on a rotational basis at West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven (WCH), this is currently 1:7 weekdays. On-Call workload is managed at Cumberland Infirmary site, reporting for both Cumberland Infirmary and West Cumberland Hospital sites.
There is provision for remote access to Trust IT systems and working from home may be possible with agreement from the Clinical Director. It is expected that the appointee will contribute equally to the out-of-hours-work and on-call rota, currently 1:11 (proposed to reduce further with successful recruitment).
The appointee will, together with the existing consultant colleagues be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive, efficient, and cost-effective clinical radiology service to the Trust and other users of the service.

Sub-specialist training/fellowship
Leadership and training experience
Holder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or within six months of award of CCT or equivalent by interview.
Inclusion on the Specialist Registrar in Radiology (or within six months of inclusion on GMC specialist register)
High standard of clinical skill and expertise in clinical Radiology
Clinical Governance and Risk
Ability to advise on efficient and smooth running of Radiology service
Experience of and commitment to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff
Ability to teach clinical and personal skills required for undergraduate and foundation trainees
Experience of teaching basic clinical skills to undergraduates
Teaching of non-medical health professionals
Experience of, and commitment to, medical audit

Ability to supervise postgraduate research
Continued Professional Development
Reflective approach to personal development with an ability to acknowledge and effectively manage poor performance
Ability to travel to fulfil the requirements of the post
