The post holder will be expected to demonstrate that they meet Homeless Network Scotland’s core values and competencies at Level 4 (see attached our competencies framework).

Our aim is to find routes out of homelessness and into independent living for the people we support every day.Alongside our services, we have two social enterprises, that provide vital income for our charity as well asvolunteering and training opportunities for people using our services and the wider community.
Taking a lead on the HR, Risk, Legal andCompliance functions, this role is responsible for all internal operations, and also supports centralfunctions.
A strong part of our culture is local accountability and as such this role will enable others to make decisions,devolving appropriate responsibilities on areas such as HR, procurement, contract management and facilities toother parts of the organisation while taking a strategic overview.
Improvement projects: Take the lead on improvement projects across the organisation, involvingappropriate people and teams.
Ensure planning for business continuity isdocumented, prepared for and regularly reviewed.
Chair the health and safetycommittee and oversee implementation of policies and appropriate reporting
Data Protection: Ensure ourinformation management systems and retention schedules are up to date and information is secure, this includesIT security and support.
Contractor management: direct and support external contractors on marketing,fundraising, people development and other projects.
Oversee the work of the Directorate of CorporateServices team providing strategic decision making, professional guidance and support.

Experience of working at a senior level within an organisation;
Demonstrable knowledge of the legal and regulatory landscape of all aspectsof corporate services to ensure understanding and compliance, including: HR; data protection; Excellent project management and planning skills and be able to translatestrategies into operational plans;
Confident with a variety of IT packages including Microsoft. Ability tocreate reports and analyse data to spot trends and act on them.

This role is part of the Promise Partnership Project - Youth Justice & Rights. You’ll be working with youngpeople and their families, carers or guardians, to offer a mediation process that will help them addressconflict before it leads to the young person becoming homeless.
In collaboration with our Family Outreach Workers, you will offer mediation to support the whole family to provide asafe space that will help them achieve a positive outcome (i.e. the young person remains at home, or moves outin a planned way).
