We are currently looking for a EMC Project Lead to join our team. The main responsibilities and duties will include:

  • To discuss with customers their technical requirements and ensure test programmes are correct and delivered as agreed.
  • To assist in monitoring the lab efficiency, ensuring all labs and staff are utilised to their best capability.
  • To assist in overseeing the laboratory operation and ensure that testing is conducted in an objective manner in accordance with the Applus+ 3C Test Quality Manual.
  • To assist the project co-ordinator/s with scheduling of labs to oversee and support the test bookings.
  • To micromanage key customer accounts, ensuring customers are well informed of status updates and reports delivered in a timely manner.
  • To work directly with the Technical Manager on open issues with test equipment and test methods that may affect, or could improve testing.
  • To compile and review final test reports post-test completion ensuring report deadlines are met.
  • To ensure, in conjunction with the EMC Laboratory Manager, that all staff have the necessary training appropriate to the testing they are required to carry out on projects under your control.
  • To ensure equipment and resources are available for each test, ahead of time, to ensure laboratory operations are utilised to their best capacity.
  • To implement the most efficient lab operations on a day-to-day basis in conjunction with the Projects Team.
  • To complete test setup checks, customer equipment checks and supervision for all the EMC laboratory.
  • To be available if necessary for short technical queries during out of office hours
  • To complete technical reviews of quotations and EMC Test Plans
  • To complete functional checks of customer equipment prior to the commencement of the test programme
  • To advise test staff on project activities, customer requests or deviations from scheduled tests.
  • To monitor project progress, raising any changes in the agreed schedule with the projects teams.
  • To be the point of contact for assigned projects, liaising with customers on technical and administrative issues.
  • To complete worksheet peer reviews and test report compilation for assigned projects.
  • Be the overall responsible leader for assigned customer projects, completing any other reasonable tasks request by the customer or projects team.

Requirements

  • National Diploma in Electronic Engineering and a Prince 2 qualification or equivalent qualification in a related field. Alternatively, 2+ years of experience within the field of EMC project management.
  • years of experience in testing and measuring in an EMC test environment.
  • good telephone manner with a clear and precise command of the English language with at least one year’s experience of customer contact at contractual and technical level.
  • ability to schedule tasks and ensure that staff, equipment and facilities are available to allow work to be completed on time must be demonstrated.
  • knowledge of the operation of PCs and associated software (especially Word processors and Automated Test Software).
