Principal/Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer
Risktec Solutions Ltd is an established, independent engineering and risk management consultancy. We are seeking highly motivated and dynamic nuclear engineers with a minimum of 5 years experience to join our collaborative Bristol and London team. The successful candidates will support the delivery of technical engineering, safety case and project management to a number of major projects within the nuclear power generation sector. Such projects include major plant modifications at Sizewell B, system engineering at Hinkley Point B, safety case documentation for SMR Generic Design Assessments, large safety cases managed by EDF Design Authority, commissioning activities at Hinkley Point C and Safety Case production for Sizewell C.
This role provides an opportunity to be part of an exciting, dynamic, and rapidly growing nuclear team across the south of England. Leading the delivery of major safety cases.
Facilitating hazard identification and optioneering workshops.
Production of formal technical reports, safety cases and other project deliverables on time and to budget.
Implementation of modifications to plant, including:
Undertaking plant obsolescence assessments.
Authoring testing and commissioning strategies and functional test procedures.
Support to plant operability, including:
Condition monitoring and identification of plant faults.
Supporting equipment reliability reviews, including plant walk downs.
Management of projects, project teams and interfacing with clients.

You will also play a key role in the mentoring of junior engineers and the technical development of our growing nuclear team, as well as having the opportunity to support the development of wider company initiatives, such as industry networking and learning, developing training courses, development of techniques and toolkits to deliver more efficiently. The role also provides the potential to support other Risktec sectors such as oil and gas, clean energy, transport, defence, and conventional power in the future.
A proven track record in maintaining engineering systems, commissioning new plant and/or delivering nuclear safety cases.
The ability to travel within the UK.

Due to the nature of the work, the candidates must have a suitable background that will allow them to achieve UK security clearance to a minimum level of BPSS (please note that this is very difficult to achieve within the timescales for non-UK nationals and you will be subject to a screening process prior to interview to ensure that you meet the security clearance criteria).
