An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Paediatric Diabetes Dietetic Team for a permanent, part-time Dietitian (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday).

Working alongside the Band 7 Dietitian, you will provide expert education and support to families with children or young people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes and also deliver training to ward staff and professionals based in nurseries and schools.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is an integral member of the paediatric diabetes team at The Evelina London Children's Hospital who care for children and young people aged 0-16 with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes in addition to MODY. You will be working alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team consisting of consultants, specialist nurses, psychologist, family support work and youth worker.

About us

The Paediatric Nutrition and Dietetic Department comprises of a team of over 40 Paediatric Dietitians and Dietetic Assistants covering areas such as Metabolic, Renal, Allergy, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Feeding Clinics, Ketogenic, Cardiology, Nutrition Support, Neonates, PICU, HIV, respiratory and Diabetes. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shadow other specialist areas, attend and lead CPD both in the acute/allergy teams and wider dietetics and be involved in training Dietetic students.

There are numerous opportunities within the department for audit and service development and you will be supported and encouraged to actively participate in these areas.

  • Substantial clinical experience following graduation
  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Evidence of CPD

Desirable


  • Experience of training student dietitians
  • Previous experience of conducting audits and / or research
  • Experience of working in paediatric dietetics
  • Experience of working in paediatric diabetes
