Innovative Renewables company – Project engineer – Paying competitively + £6k car allowance and an excellent benefits package – Scotland based (South of Ayr) A highly expansive, innovative Renewable client of mine is currently looking to expand the existing projects team with another out the box thinking engineer. My client is looking to take on and develop a project engineer within the field of anaerobic digestion for expansion and modification of their 12 existing sites across the UK with desire to expand in other renewable fields. My client is offering a excellent progression and an opportunity to voice your innovative idea to the Project Director. They’re very fast moving, fast expanding company opening 12 sites in their short 11 years of conception with aspiration to grow much more in the coming years. Below is the Job description: Liaise with the Operations team when scoping new projects to ensure that all design information is provided in line with project budgets/timescales, promoting innovation & compliance. Ensure implementation of sound tender strategies when appointing external suppliers/contractors. Manage tender submissions for all subcontract/ supplier & plant and materials purchase aspects of a project & in ensure procurement targets for the project are achieved. Implement & achieve all project targets for which you are responsible by utilising operational & support resources at the appropriate time. Incorporate the most up-to-date cost forecast & advise of any potential movement in anticipated costs. Monitor the change order & variation process. Implement the commercial strategy for the project. Monitor compliance with the contract conditions, maintain all necessary records, paperwork & site diaries, mark up programme on site to ensure that all delays, disruption, etc. can be properly substantiated. Ensure an appropriate skill base exists from supplier base to deliver the project effectively & manage and motivate the site team. Develop & regularly review project progress from inception to handover to the Operations Team. Develop plans to overcome any stresses. Develop and maintain a specific project risk register to give early warning & to highlight risks & implement corrective plans for mitigation. Monitor the achievement of KPIs & liaise with our supply chain’s senior managers & business owners to mitigate issues & improve performance. Working with the HSE team - develop & implement the project-specific Quality Plan & monitor compliance. Promote a positive safety culture & ensure the project complies with all appropriate Safety Health & Environmental requirements & fulfil your individual responsibilities. With the Safety Leader and relevant Health & Safety Coach/Advisor prepare project specific Environmental, Health & Safety Plan for the project & undertake its enforcement. Project handover - Verify that commissioning progress & all the appropriate tests have been witnessed by the relevant parties. Ensure the draft O&M manuals are issued prior to handover & As Fitted drawings (or final construction drawings) have been completed & issued. Clear all remaining items & achieve zero defects at handover. Continuous improvement project work delivery across multiple operations sites. Person Specification: Demonstrate a positive attitude towards continuous improvement and consistent exceptional internal customer service. Demonstrate an uncompromising commitment in ensuring safe environments & practices. Consistently demonstrates that only the best is good enough. Regularly delivers on promises. Develops a rapport with internal customers, business partners, suppliers; ensuring that expectations are met & good communications are in place. Demonstrate significant contribution to teamworking & relationships both internally & externally. Uses commercial awareness to optimise the use of resources within the team whilst still achieving agreed tasks & targets. Manages changing situations to ensure work programmes are delivered to time & standard. Challenges self to deliver the best for less. Always behaves with integrity. Uses personal technical, professional knowledge & experience to resolve problems in the business &/or works with & through others to gain practical, cost-effective solutions. Allocates/delegates work based on an assessment of task complexity & personal capabilities. Able to plan & organise own activities to ensure timely & effective delivery of objectives. Full Driving Licence (ideally clean) Excellent IT Skills (intermediate to advance in Excel, Word & PowerPoint). Able to adapt to different ERP Systems including inhouse systems. Previous experience of using Microsoft Projects or similar. Qualifications: Essential: HNC/Degree in Project Management/Mechanical or Electrical Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Biochemistry or similar A Level/ Baccalaureate /Scottish Highers - including Math’s; Chemistry; Biology. Desirable: Master’s in chemical engineering/Renewable/Energy or relevant engineering subject Benefits package –
