Job Details

Your primary focus will involve improving manufacturing performance and efficiency, leading process improvement projects, supporting breakdown situations and driving permanent resolutions to failures. You’ll work in collaboration with the existing engineering team on site, as well as both the site and group Continuous Improvement teams.

What will this role involve?

  • Strong electrical knowledge and understanding of control systems.
  • Fault finding and maintenance of controls systems, preferably Allen Bradley platforms (RSLogix500 / 5000 etc).
  • Knowledge of communication protocols and networks.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing equipment, optimisation of processes and automation development.
  • Innovate, specify, and lead projects with the implementation of new processes in order to meet growth demands in manufacturing.
  • Establish and mitigate risk from obsolescence of controls equipment and associated hardware.
  • Perform software validations on new and existing equipment, ensuring compliance to the required regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain local site control of all software and system specifications.
  • Coach and mentor apprentices and engineers in their development where relevant.
  • Any other task associated with the role as determined by the Engineering Manager.

What we're looking for?

  • Strong electrical knowledge and understanding of control systems.
  • Experience of programming and fault finding across Allen Bradley Platforms.
  • Experience with managing and maintaining software documentation databases.
  • Familiar with and able to install / programme MES / Machine Data systems.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols and networks.
  • Experience performing software validations.
  • Able to generate and modify electrical drawings.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment, such as Food, Medical and Aerospace.
