Advanced Secure Technologies is a well-established company, headquartered in Cardiff, Wales, UK, with new subsidiary operations in the US and EMEA. We specialise in market-leading security technologies that protect organisations from document fraud.
We’ve doubled as a team in the last two years to approx. 36 employees and are in the process growing our head count by 25% to keep up with our rapid growth. We focus on business development driven through long-term and excellent customer relations, working as solution consultants to our customers.
Our customers include institutes across all education sectors, Universities, Professional Bodies and Awarding Organisations. These range from UK based specialist organisations right up to large and globally renowned education institutions both in the UK and overseas; and we are rolling out ambitious plans to grow our business further worldwide.
You will have the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge Microsoft technologies, encompassing the full-stack in a containerized architecture environment. Using your extensive knowledge, skills, and experience, you'll be instrumental in applying software development best practices and principles; to design, develop, and continuously enhance our digital web-based product portfolio.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborative Development: Actively contribute to all stages of product lifecycle within a development team, focusing on solution design and feature development to deliver high-quality software.
- Team Engagement: Participate in team activities like stand-ups and planning sessions.
- Code Excellence: Develop clean, functional, and testable enterprise-level code and software solutions.
- Process Improvement: Work with team members to enhance processes, ensuring they align with business and customer needs.
- Knowledge Sharing: Coach and mentor team members, sharing expertise and guiding less experienced colleagues.
- Cross-Functional Support: Provide assistance across various teams, including Product, Support, and Infrastructure.
- Proactive Work Management: Independently manage workload, taking full ownership of solutions and issue resolution.
The ideal candidate will have:
Essential:
- .NET: A minimum of 2 years' experience in C#.NET; including more recent experience of .NET 7 or .NET Core.
- Best Practice : Knowledge of software development best practices and principles such as SOLID/DRY/Design Patterns.
- API: Developing and integrating to RESTful APIs.
Desirable:
- Formal Education: Degree in Computer Science or similar discipline preferred.
- Technical Expertise: Knowledge in .NET 8 / .NET Core, MVC / Blazor, Entity Framework Core, MS SQL.
- Testing Skills: Experience in TDD/Unit Testing/Integration Testing.
- Cloud Computing: Azure development knowledge or experience.
- Web Development: Proficiency in HTML/JavaScript/Query/CSS/WCAG/Accessibility.
- Operational Skills: Experience in CI/CD/DevOps, software architecture, and containerisation with Docker.
