Overview:

We are seeking a talented and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our FinOps project team within the U.K. Public Sector. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our financial operations through the effective implementation and management of DevOps practices. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, contribute to the improvement of financial efficiency, and support the overall mission of the public sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. DevOps Implementation:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain DevOps pipelines for financial systems within the public sector. Drive the adoption of best practices in continuous integration, continuous deployment, and infrastructure as code.

  1. Infrastructure Management:

Design, implement, and manage cloud-based infrastructure to support financial applications. Ensure the scalability, security, and availability of infrastructure components.

  1. Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with development, operations, and finance teams to bridge gaps and streamline processes. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing technical insights and recommendations.

  1. Automation:

Develop and maintain automated processes for deployment, monitoring, and maintenance. Identify opportunities for process automation to enhance overall efficiency.

  1. Security and Compliance:

Implement and enforce security best practices for infrastructure and applications. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to financial systems. Key Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer in complex, enterprise-level environments. Strong communication skills, ability to adapt, and independently research alternative approaches and find solutions to existing problems.

Excellent understanding of LogicApps. Excellent experience of configuring automated (CI/CD) pipelines into multiple environments. Good experience of writing PowerShell Az, Azure CLI, .NET, and other scripting languages. Excellent understanding of Git-based development process and approvals. Good understanding of Git branching strategies, security, and configuration.

Excellent understanding of infrastructure as code and at minimum ARM templates (Bicep and Terraform useful). Good experience implementing parameterized pipelines and Keyvault integration. Good understanding of Azure and Azure Services from a DevOps perspective (particularly Synapse, Azure SQL, Azure storage, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Keyvault, Databricks). Experience of Github. Experience of using and configuring Test Plans and Artifacts.

Experience of using and configuring ADO Boards. Experience implementing DevOps instrumentation and reporting. Experience implementing Database DevOps deployments into the cloud (ideally both state-based and migrations-based approaches). Nice to have:

Understanding of Github Actions. Experience implementing Test automation in DevOps. Understanding of REST APIs and calling REST methods. Understanding of Power BI DevOps approach. Good understanding of DevSecOps and DataOps.
