YOUR MISSION Are you a UK-qualified commercial lawyer with a background in either in-house or private practice? Do you have a proven track record in handling commercial contracts, especially those involving customer agreements and collaboration with sales and commercial teams? As a key member of our in-house legal team, you will play a crucial role in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a variety of contracts and legal documents. Your focus will be on in-building connectivity solutions, small cells Open Access, and customer agreements, all integral to the implementation of the UK Wireless Infrastructure Strategy. By joining us, you will be part of a digital innovation wave supporting Smart Cities, IoT, digital broadcasting, and the UKs transport and emergency services. This is your chance to contribute to reducing digital inequality and advancing the communications infrastructure for the 21st century.
This is a hybrid role, based out of our lovely offices in Reading 3 days a week, with 2 days at home. The post holder will be responsible for providing legal support and commercially focused legal advice to various Cellnex UK internal teams, including Commercial, Operations, Procurement, Finance and Human Resources. Reviewing and drafting supplier contracts, customer contracts and other commercial agreements, with a particular focus on Open Access Agreements and Concession Agreements facilitating small cells connectivity, and associated customer contracts. standard licences and contract variations; Providing legal advice working as a business partner with sales and procurement colleagues managing a case load of multiple contracts often with tight deadlines.
Providing accurate, pragmatic and timely advice to commercial teams on public and private bids for new contracts
Providing strategic legal advice to senior internal stakeholders on contractual risks and working with internal teams on managing and mitigating risks
Assisting on the design and implementation of processes and systems to deliver high quality and consistent legal advice and resources to the organisation, supporting the management of documents and risk.
Creating and updating contract template documents and guidance notes and designing and delivering training to other areas of the business.
Suitable applicants will be lawyers qualified to practise in the UK, with specific experience of working with a business on commercial contractswho are keen to build on their in-house experience within a fast paced and dynamic environment, delivering work of a high standard and building strong team relationships within and outside the legal team.
We anticipate that you will have 4+ PQE but are happy to consider candidates of other PQE who have the relevant commercial contracts experience.You must be able to demonstrate expertise in drafting and providing commercial advice on contracts, working on multiple matters at the same time and demonstrating strong time management and prioritisation, gained either in private practice, or within a previous in-house role.
Comfortable working directly with internal commercial stakeholders on a day to day basis, working autonomously and escalating matters as appropriate, while having the support of more senior team members when required.
