Foundation invites applications for the position of Deputy Artistic Director. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in collaborating with the Founder & Artistic Director to implement the Foundation’s ambitious artistic vision and programming. This full-time position involves developing new collaborations, securing international partnerships, and contributing to the Foundation’s commitment to diversity and inclusion within the classical musiclandscape.
Candidates must possess an extensive knowledge of both historical and contemporary musical landscapes, with a particular emphasis on classical music history. Experience in live music programming, especially orchestral, is crucial, as is a proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with artists, venues, and stakeholders. The role demands a commitment to fostering a more equitable culture in classical music, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and the capability to manage artistic project budgets effectively. A willingness to travel and uphold the Foundation’s mission and values is alsoessential.
Desirable Qualities:
Experience with artistic programming for classical orchestras, knowledge of the work of historic Black and ethnically diverse composers, and a background in related sectors such as broadcast production, marketing, or fundraising are desirable. The Deputy Artistic Director will be instrumental in driving innovative programming, shaping musical programmes to highlight work by historic Black and ethnically diverse composers, and fostering a supportive culture within the Chineke Orchestra.
