About the Company:
Our partner, a leading civil engineering firm in the southeast of England, is seeking a talented Project Manager to join their office. They are the leaders in ground works for various projects, such as earthworks remediation, earthworks, compact roller work, and foundations. They work on a wide range of projects, from setting up Earth works for Tesla EV charging stations to working on big projects like HS2. They have a diverse client base, including major tier 1 engineering firms. They also take on some unique projects, like the earthworks for Game of Thrones. The company has experienced significant growth over the past 10 years and is a fast-growing company.
About the Role:
As a Project Manager, you will apply your technical expertise and project management experience to manage project teams during different civil engineering processes. This would include performing the basic project functions of production coordination, planning, organizing, directing, controlling, financial management and marketing assistance. The role involves managing stakeholders as well as site crews and overseeing the civil engineering projects.
Responsibilities:
- Management of routine projects, characterized by changing conditions and requirements, challenging client/agency demands, or difficult project coordination.
- Manages land development projects.
- Coordinates and participates in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors, and drafts complex professional service agreements and addenda for review by senior management.
- Provides high-level direction to the design team and identifies potential design and scheduling issues and resource needs as soon as possible so appropriate adjustments can be made.
- Monitors reports and schedules to ensure appropriate charging of man hours, costs and expenses to projects, and communicates project progress/status to senior management.
- Monitors client billings, assists in obtaining payment from clients, and resolves client disputes, adjusting project billing records as required.
- Must work effectively and coordinate efficiently with outside consultants including architects, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers and landscape architects.
Requirements:
- 1.5-3 years experience as a graduate/assistant project manager in a similar setting.
- Civil engineering academic background.
- Strong technical writing and communications skills.
- Strong project financial management skills.
