Process and Resource Improvement Manager (BBBH997) Swindon, England

At Neptune we like to do things a little differently. After all, this is what sets us apart from the rest. We design, manufacture, distribute, retail and wholesale luxury kitchens, stunning furniture and homewares and all the little things that make a house a home and the often unknown story is the one where we took the brave decision to do everything ourselves.

We don’t just follow the usual path of operations, we are building best in class products so we aspire to plan and use our resources with equal detail and panache. Basics done well. We dig into the hidden depths of what’s possible, what’s right and ultimately, what’s best. Our culture and our surroundings bring together teamwork and continuous improvement, identifying and driving these improvements. So, as part of the growth of our unusual, vertically integrated business, we’re on the lookout for an experienced Process and Resource Improvement Manager to join us.

In this brand new, key role you’ll be responsible for overseeing the allocation and utilisation of resources to ensure optimal efficiency and productivity around personnel, equipment and improvement of processes in line with expected volumes to meet the needs of our customers.

Day to day you will:
  • Allocate resource across different workstreams or tasks based on priority, deadlines, and available capacity
  • Collaborate with Merchandising to ensure effective stock management processes, pick face and stock holding capacity, in line with outbound and inbound volume requirements
  • Assess resource availability and forecast future needs to ensure effective capacity planning and meet targets within inbound stock, manufacturing, warehouse and distribution
  • Develop and manage budgets for resources, including labour costs, equipment hiring, and operational expenses, to ensure cost-effectiveness and meet financial targets.
  • Create schedules and timelines for projects and tasks, taking into account resource availability, dependencies, and constraints
  • Identify potential risks and challenges related to resource availability or allocation, developing mitigating strategies
  • Track performance of resource using metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimise allocation processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across different teams to understand their resource needs and priorities, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives

A key aspect of this role involves continuous improvement as we continue to grow you’ll implement process improvements and best practices to enhance resource planning and allocation processes. You’ll bring demonstrable experience in a previous similar role along with project management; successfully planning and managing resources within an operational or manufacturing environment, delivering projects on time and within budget, and hold a Prince 2 qualification or similar and a strong understanding of Six Sigma or similar. You’ll also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence decision-making. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to juggle multiple priorities along with being flexible when these need to change. It’s essential that you will be proficient in the use of ERP systems, Microsoft packages and demand planning software, with experience within a kitchen manufacturing environment being highly advantageous.
