You will develop and implement commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aimed at accelerating growth, and conduct market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities, as well as developing and maintaining strong, trust based relationships with existing and new clients.

Reporting to the MD of Kenyon, you will be responsible for leading service delivery, commercial planning, business development, customer relationship, finance and sales team management, as well as taking charge of projects to ensure the commercial team delivers excellence.

This role is high volume, small value sales, but it involves the long sell.Some contracts can take months, sometimes years from prospecting to contract signing, but the team also nurture hundreds of existing contracts and renewals day to day. So if you are interested in quick sales and high volume this role may not be for you. You will be someone who really wants to put their strategic mark on the commercials and feel the achievement when you see it grow and succeed. There is so much opportunity for growth in this sector so are you the person to go after it?

What we are looking for:

  • A strong sales and business development background for a service provider that involves Business to Business consultative sales
  • Experience of writing, presenting and implementing sales strategies
  • A minimum of 5 years in commercial (sales, marketing and BD) management experience
  • A stable employment track record with greater than 3 years in each previous position
  • A strong commercial background and evidence of successfully managing, developing and growing commercial teams to deliver success and meet targets
  • Resident within a commutable distance of RG12 1RW – 5 days in the office per week will be required whilst learning the products / services, reverting to a hybrid model after
  • Experience working with various departments such as operations, marketing and finance to develop and implement commercial strategies
  • Experience of market research to aid decision making and strategic planning
  • Experience of client relationship management and growing client base / bottom line
  • An ability and willingness to occasionally travel nationally and internationally
  • Proficient in planning, scheduling and resource management
  • Experience of a CRM – salesforce would be advantageous
  • A detailed understanding and execution of formal commercial documents including tender frameworks and stages, proposals, work agreements, contracts, invoicing and credit control
  • IT skills - Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams
  • Experience managing multiple tasks, determining priorities as appropriate, with the flexibility to adapt and adjust to unforeseen circumstances
  • An understanding of / or experience in crisis management, emergency planning or incident response is desirable but not essential
