Desktop Support Engineer (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)

Summary:

  • Provides users and customers with Level 1 support and a central point of contact for logging, tracking, managing, and resolving tickets for Operating Systems, hardware, network and applications.

Essential Functions:

  • First point of contact for the Service Delivery team for internal and external customers.
  • Prompt answering of telephone calls to the Service Desk.
  • Log, manage, assign, and escalate tickets in the ITSM system (ServiceNow).
  • Ensure that all work is correctly logged, and all work carried out is recorded in the ticket.
  • Refer to, and follow, knowledge base articles for incident resolution and request fulfilment.
  • Follow all documented IT processes and procedures.
  • User Administration

Skills:

  • Some IT Support or Service Desk experience essential.
  • Customer service, analytical and problem resolution skills.
  • Verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate well with all levels of the organization.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office and web browsers.
  • Ability to work within a busy pressurised team.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Good planning and organisational skills.
