Head Bartender

Pittormie Castle & Residences, the best kept secret in the Scottish hospitality sector and home to The Eden Club a private members golf, shooting and residence club located on the outskirts of St Andrews, Fife. The Estate is spread over 20 acres with the castle, residences and leisure facilities maintained to the highest possible standards by a dedicated loyal and hardworking team. The role: As a Head Bartender within the Food and Beverage team you will be responsible for delivering the highest standard of service to our members and guests, the bar is the hub of the castle, this is a job for someone with a passion for Whisky, cocktails and showcasing the quality of Scottish drinks to a global audience. Providing a warm and friendly welcome, connecting with returning members and ensuring they feel like they are made to feel like the are returning to their Scottish home, this is a job for someone who loves to connect with people Working within a small team you will ensure a smooth and efficient drinks service, always focusing on personalising the customer experience. This is not a typical bartenders position, you will be responsible for providing service from an extensive range of high quality drinks to a select number of residents each evening. Spending time with customers discussing whiskies, gins and local beers this is a role for anyone who enjoys being able to personalise a guests drinking experience. We are looking for a candidate who not only takes pride in their appearance but the appearance of the bar and the drinks they will be responsible for creating and serving. A keen eye for detail and a desire to achieve the highest standards of service are paramount. A passion for Whisky will be essential, the ability to undertake whisky tastings both in a formal and informal manner will be an important part of the role. This is the ideal position for someone with a passion for the industry to work with the best quality drinks, our brand partnerships will assist in your further development and knowledge and training including access to industry leading training such as the Diploma in Single Malt Whisky to develop your knowledge and skills. Hours of work will vary between the summer and winter but you will typically work a 38 hour per week, you will not be required late into the night, typical shifts are from 4-11.30pm 5 days from 7.
