Overview Highly successful SME electronics manufacturing company require experienced Production Engineer to provide support to the manufacturing team and work to maximise production efficiency. This role is office based at a convenient location in Staines upon Thames. About the role Reporting to the Production Manager the Production Engineer will work in a customer facing role to diagnose any faults within the manufacturing process and work towards a process of continuous improvement. Key duties include:

  • Hands on management of the production function and providing technical support to production operatives
  • Ensuring all customer orders are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
  • Providing a technical diagnosis for any returned products and providing a full report with corrective action for each customer in accordance with the Service Level Agreement.
  • Completing a diagnosis and reporting with regard to any supplier returns
  • Working with the product testing team to provide an analysis of faults for non shipped products and looking to improve the production process to ensure minimum product failures
  • Responsible for the inventory & maintenance of all production equipment
  • Overseeing the workload and setting objectives for the Engineering Technician
  • Working to develop the skills and competence of the production team
  • Engaging with a process of continuous improvement to increase efficiency, production and customer satisfaction.
About you
  • You will have a proven track record as a Production or Manufacturing Engineer and ideally have experience within the Electronics/ PCB sector
  • The successful applicant will have strong written and verbal communication skills and be capable of working within a customer facing position
  • In addition you will have a strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately diagnose problems and work to implement corrective action.
