Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with SEMH and other special educational needs in their learning and development.
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual student needs.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with severe Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or mental health disorders.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Support students in developing social skills and coping strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar setting, such as a SeND school, care home working with severe ASD patients, or working with individuals with mental health disorders. Alternatively, experience in a penitentiary or young offenders' institution is also valuable.
- Education: If you don't have any previous experience, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology is highly desirable for those looking to gain hands-on experience in an educational setting.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with young people facing significant challenges.
