My client is a children’s residential provider with an OFSTED Rating of ‘Good’ based in Ashford, Surrey.
It is a 6 bed home, providing long term residential care for 8-17 year old children and young people with learning disabilities. My client offers tailor-made support packages for their currently settled and long term children.
They are looking to appoint a dedicated and passionate Registered Manager, who can help the home to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people whilst consistently providing high-quality care.
As a Registered Children’s Home Manager, you will:
Meet the unique needs of children and actively promoting their development.
Collaborate with parents, carers and professionals to safeguard and promote the welfare of our children and young people,
Manage the home and ensure the efficient operation of the service in accordance with the relevant legislation, procedures, policies and the Statement of Purpose for the home.
Achieve a quality service; aiming to achieve a ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ OFSTED rating.
Manage and supporting the home’s staff team, providing supervision on a regular basis, assessing staff performance and providing some training.
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, OFSTED inspection framework, other relevant legislation and guidance and company policies and procedures.
Provide effective leadership and management of the residential home.
Manage, support, and safeguard the children and young people and promote their wellbeing.
Ensure that the highest possible standards of physical and emotional care is always maintained within the home.
Ensure the promotion of education, physical health, and emotional well-being of the young people.
NVQ Level 3 In Children and Young Peoples work force or equivalent.
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England)
Experience in managing an OFSTED rated ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ children’s home.
Evidence of obtaining ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ outcomes from OFSTED inspections
A minimum of 3 years experience in a position relevant to the residential care of children or young adults with Learning Disabilities, within the last 5 years.
An in-depth understanding of the Regulatory Framework relating to residential childcare and relevant in-depth knowledge of legislation relevant to the care of children and children safeguarding processes.
A full UK Driving Licence.
