Commercial Property Lawyer/Senior Lawyer

The Real Estate Team is well established with a strong regional profile, lead by five partners who each focus on particular aspects of commercial property in the region. The team works collaboratively with others across the firm, providing support to commercial clients on matters such as:
Commercial Property acquisitions and disposals
Development projects

As the team grows, there is considerable scope for progression to senior level and a potential future leadership role in time for someone with the right blend of technical skills, personal motivation and commercial awareness.
The Real Estate team is expanding owing to increased client demand, and as part of the wider ambition of the firm to grow the practice further. Working with the Partners, you will be allocated a caseload of commercial property matters of varying size and complexity from the outset. Your primary focus will be to provide exceptional client service, appreciating each client’s individual commercial context, ambitions and requirements and providing considered and commercially relevant advice to them in a timely manner. Over time, there will be the opportunity for you to specialise in your preferred area of Real Estate law, but initially your caseload is likely to be broad and varied, reflecting the work of the partners you will be supporting.
The firm prides itself on its ‘home-grown’ lawyers and ability to attract, develop and retain top talent, so you can be expect to be well supported and encouraged by colleagues and partners across the firm. Depending upon your preference, you will be based from offices in Exeter, Torquay or Plymouth with hybrid working.
Having gained experience as a Commercial Property or Real Estate Lawyer in a UK law firm, you will be accustomed to handling a varied caseload of good quality matters with limited supervision, and with increasing independence over time. Likely to already be an Associate or an aspiring Solicitor seeking to progress, you will be motivated and enthusiastic, having benefited from good quality training and post qualifying experience in commercial property matters. You may have already gained some experience in how to generate new business opportunities for your team and the wider firm, promoting your profile and building up referrer networks. You will be keen to build out your network with referrers across the region, and contribute towards broader business development activities in agreement with the Partners.
You focus on keeping up to date with the latest legal developments affecting commercial property and work proactively to consider potential impact on your clients.
You will possess proven rapport building skills and you are tenacious, thorough, and attentive to detail, taking pride in the high standards of your work.
