Join us as a Solution Architect

  • Join our new CRM Platforms team in the Wealth Chief Digital Information office (WCDIO) and help us define the high level technical architecture and design that underpins the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) in WCDIO

What you'll do

As a Solution Architect, you'll influence the definition and communication of a shared technical and architectural vision of end-to-end designs that may span multiple platforms and domains, in alignment with WCDIO’s and the NatWest Group’s agreed enterprise architecture principles, focusing on re-use and efficiencies.

Collaborating with Wealth Enterprise Architecture, API, Core Platforms and NatWest Group CRM enterprise and solutions architects along with the Wealth CRM platforms team, you’ll architect and deliver solutions leveraging Microsoft D365 as the new CRM in Wealth, integrated with existing Wealth technology stack. Together, you’ll elaborate on the solution and its interfaces, validate technology assumptions, evaluate implementation alternatives, and develop a pipeline of features and improvements to allow frequent and incremental delivery of end-user value.

On top of this, you’ll be:

  • Leading the development of High-Level Solution Designs (HLSD), interacting with WCDIO Enterprise Architects, Security, Infrastructure, API and Data colleagues

  • Owning the technical design issues and driving resolution through the iteration of the technical solution design

  • Leading activities to shape requirements, validating designs and prototypes to deliver change that aligns with the target architecture

  • Promoting adaptive design practices to drive collaboration of feature teams around a common technical vision using continuous feedback

  • Making recommendations of potential impacts to existing and prospective customers of the latest technology and clients’ trends

The skills you'll need

You’ll bring expert knowledge of application architecture, in particular the D365, Power Platform and Dataverse ecosystem and business data architecture. You’ll also need experience of defining application architectures, HLSDs and roadmaps for complex solutions working for all layers of the technical architecture.

You’ll demonstrate an appetite to continuously learn and update skills on the latest technologies and trends, such as Gen AI or Copilot and to act as a thought partner to the CRM Platforms team and business colleagues. In addition, you’ll need an understanding of Agile and contemporary methodologies with experience of working in Agile teams.

On top of this, you’ll bring:

  • Deep technical experience as a key contributor in the field of .NET or Java development and other common languages, micro-services architectures, Azure and DevOps practices

  • A background in delivering solutions that securely span a complex infrastructure domain

  • Experience of systems development change lifecycles, best practices and approaches

  • Knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering

  • The ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to peers and leadership level colleaguesProblem-solving and analytical skills, to design and deliver applications that align with industry, the NatWest Group and Wealth best practices and colleagues’ needs
