We’ve got an exciting opportunity for a Ranger to join our team at Cliveden.
As a Ranger, you’re the heart and soul of the National Trust in the landscapes we protect. You’re a champion of nature conservation and the great outdoors, and you’ll play a crucial role in keeping the nation’s beloved countryside and coast in good shape, for wildlife and for people.
Provisional interview date: Wednesday 15th of May
This location is isolated, so you'll need to ensure you have transport to get here, as the property can't be accessed using public transport.
The Cliveden Portfolio is a fast-paced environment with new challenges every day. You’ll be working on Common land at the heart of the local community and the wider estate of Cliveden House, one of the busiest properties in the National Trust.
As one of five Rangers across the Portfolio, you’ll be helping to protect and care for habitats, wildlife, infrastructure and machinery.
As part of a small team, you’ll be helping to protect and care for habitats, wildlife, infrastructure and machinery.
You’ll make sure that the conservation work and outdoor experiences across the Portfolio are of the highest standard. You’ll build relationships in the local community, proudly representing the Trust and letting people know about the work you and the team are doing.
The role has a practical focus so is all about being outside and delivering management to preserve and enhance the places under our care. This includes access work, habitat conservation and ensuring sites are well presented. You may be working on your own or with other members of staff and will regularly lead volunteer teams on a variety of tasks. Whatever you’re doing, you’ll ensure it's undertaken safely.
You'll be required to work some weekends, bank holidays and evenings.
We’d love to hear from you if you’re:
practically experienced in conservation work, to protect and improve habitats and landscapes

hard-working and willing to learn
able to work safely, using risk assessments and following guidelines
experienced in managing land, access and conservation, and working outdoors
able to use machinery and equipment, with relevant certificates
a driver with a full UK driving licence
