Electrical Design Engineer – Bespoke Machinery Manufacturer

Location: South Manchester

Salary: Up to £60k (Depending on experience)

We are excited to be partnering with a highly reputable and market-leading manufacturing company in South Manchester that is looking to expand their design team. Specialising in the creation of bespoke, special-purpose machinery, they are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing and innovative mechanical design department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with mechanical design and controls engineers to design bespoke automation machinery
  • Ensure compliance with UK and international standards
  • Create technical documentation including functional design specifications, bill of materials, and electrical drawings
  • Contribute to continuous improvements within the department and company
  • Occasionally travel within the UK and abroad

Experience Required:

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in electrical design for industries like food, automotive, aerospace, or pharmaceuticals
  • Proficiency with electrical design software, preferably EPLAN
  • Knowledge of Sistema and electrical design for drive systems, electrical loadings, and current ratings
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Understanding and experience in UKCA/CE Technical file creation and risk assessments
  • Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, and vacuum systems
  • Ability to interact effectively with a range of stakeholders, including customers and suppliers
  • Must have full right to work in the UK

Package:

  • Salary up to £60k, depending on experience
  • 38-hour week with flexible working hours and early finish on Fridays
  • 25 days holiday
