Salary: up to £65k plus car allowance

Basic Hours : 40 hours Monday to Friday

About the role:

Are you an experienced Mechanical Estimator looking for an exciting opportunity with a leading mechanical and electrical contractor? Our client, based in Manchester is seeking a skilled Mechanical Estimator to join their dynamic team. With a reputation for excellence in delivering commercial and industrial projects, this is your chance to work on high-profile contracts and further your career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing detailed cost estimates for mechanical projects across various sectors.
  • Reviewing project specifications, drawings, and designs to ensure accurate pricing.
  • Working closely with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather and negotiate quotes.
  • Providing value engineering solutions to optimize project efficiency and cost.
  • Supporting the tender process by producing competitive and profitable estimates.
  • Keeping up to date with market trends, pricing, and material costs to ensure the accuracy of estimates.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and services (HVAC, piping, plumbing, etc.).
  • Excellent knowledge of estimating software and tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Highly organized, with attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • HND, HNC, or a relevant mechanical engineering qualification is desirable.
