Description
Purpose: To process a portfolio of client payrolls on a monthly or weekly basis as required and support the team in offering an effective bookkeeping service to a range of client entities. Is motivated to perform and committed to effective client service and the quality of work meets the company's ethical and professional standards and supports organisational success.
Key Responsibilities
~ To process a portfolio of client payrolls as required which will include:

o Collate timesheets and appropriate payroll records
o Input timesheets to payroll system
o Calculate pay for the period
o Prepare payroll reports from the payroll system for review and approval
o Provide client with relevant payroll reports and payslips in a timely manner
o Update and maintain client employee information as required
o Ensure all required information is held for each payroll client and their employees
o File CER/ETI returns as required within the required timeframes
Undertakes a range of client bookkeeping tasks and assignments including computerised and manual bookkeeping (including account file setup, processing of sales & purchase invoices, income review and reconciliation, purchase ledger review and reconciliation, nominal ledger review and reconciliation, bank reconciliation, overall expenditure review, extended trial balance preparation and resolving queries by liaison with clients)
Respond to any client queries in a timely manner Monitors own WIP and is mindful to ensure a positive contribution is made to departmental billing.
Maintains good client relationships, with an awareness of significant changes in client affairs.
Understands the firm's products and services and identifies opportunities to cross-sell and understands the client base and is able to build relationships to ensure client retention and growth.
Provides administrative support to the firm during periods of sickness & holiday (including reception, filing, post and any other ad hoc administrative duties).
Acts as an ambassador of the firm, building relationships and promoting the firm at every opportunity to facilitate new business opportunities.
File CER/ETI/SS returns.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Ability to handle confidential information.
Ability to learn and develop technical knowledge and understanding of current payroll legislation and statutory regulations in the Channel Islands.
Possesses some technical knowledge and understanding of current bookkeeping regulations that impact upon clients or the team.
Is a team player, but also able to work alone and be a self-starter with a flexible and proactive approach coupled with an ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
Has good communication, interpersonal, planning and organising skills and is able to display initiative and lateral thinking coupled with good problem solving and analytical thinking ability.
Highly PC literate with good knowledge of Windows software and accounting systems.
Qualifications/Experience
No relevant experience necessary but must be willing and able, if required, to undertake a relevant accounting professional qualification and apply that knowledge to gain experience in the role. Previous experience working in an office environment would be desirable. #J-18808-Ljbffr
