CY Executive Resourcing are excited to be supporting an acclaimed NHS organisation to recruit a Senior Directorate Accountant on a substantive basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate with prior NHS experience who is looking to progress their career and studies, as part of a supportive and highly driven team.

The post-holder will be responsible for the production and analysis of monthly financial statements, supporting a number of Directorates and Service Lines, and providing financial advice to budget holders to assist in the preparation of annual budgets and business plans.

  • Produce timely and accurate financial statements for Directorates & Service Lines on a monthly basis
  • Support budget holders in managing their financial position such that the Trust is able to achieve its financial targets
  • Support negotiations with NHS and external organisations over cost/service issues
  • Report Directorates & Service Lines financial position to the Head of Finance to allow aggregation of the Trust's financial position on a timely monthly basis
  • Assist in the Directorate's procurement strategy to minimise cost incurred
  • Analyse complex financial trends involving many streams of data and forecast financial expenditure
  • Assist senior finance managers with financial decision making and risk mitigation
  • Prepare annual Directorate budgets for service planning
  • Monitor & control budgetary changes throughout the year for relevant Directorates
  • Assist with the month end process by coordinating the work of the management accounts department and reviewing income codes
  • Help co-ordinate work of other staff members in and allocate and check the work of junior staff members
  • Lead the integration of income, recharges and overheads for Service Lines
  • Active involvement in business planning for Service Lines
  • Identify possible efficiency savings, and work with the relevant managers to achieve those savings
  • Critique business cases for Service Lines
  • Identify financial risks and action/report as appropriate

The successful candidate will be a driven and ambitious individual with prior NHS experience, who is a fully qualified accountant or actively studying. You will demonstrate strong stakeholder holder engagement skills and a proven background in management accounts.

This role is predominantly based on site, with some remote working.
