Band 8A Highly Specialist Clinical/Counselling Psychologist

Employer Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust Location London Salary £58,698 to £65,095 pro rata per annum inclusive of HCAS Closing date 15 May 2024

We are developing the psychology input into the intensive treatment service within our community CAMHS Eating Disorders team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced clinical or counselling psychologist to take a key role in this development. Young people using the intensive service are at risk of an inpatient admission due to the severity of their eating disorder, and often have co-occurring developmental or mental health difficulties.

The successful candidate would also be part of the wider community team, and undertake assessment and therapy work using Family Therapy for Eating Disorders and CBT for Eating Disorders principles. They would be part of the wider multi-disciplinary team, and also the psychology team, which is made up of qualified clinical and counselling psychologists, and trainee and assistant psychologists. Clinical supervision for junior psychologists would also be part of this role.

We welcome applicants with experience of working in CAMHS eating disorders services, severe and complex presentations, intensive service settings, service development, and clinical supervision.

We are a large and friendly team, and we are based in accessible and pleasant Hampstead in North London. There is plenty of opportunity for CPD and training, and to be involved in research. Visits and enquiries are welcome.

Main duties of the job
