We are seeking an experienced Commercial Legal Counsel to join our Business Legal team. You will provide commercial and regulatory support for contracts, business-as-usual operations, and new initiatives as well as partnering with business leaders to help shape the strategic direction of the company.

Location: London (Hammersmith) - Hybrid

Role Responsibilities

  • Broad responsibility for commercial legal support across EMEA, with a particular focus on the UK.
  • Provide sound advice and guidance on commercial legal and business-related matters to internal stakeholders.
  • Drive collaboration with various stakeholders locally and around the globe, ensuring that legal matters are effectively and efficiently managed.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate agreements for our Retail and Digital businesses.
  • Advise on licensing and other regulatory requirements in the region relating to Western Union activities and products.
Role Requirements

  • Excellent academic qualifications including a Law degree and solicitor qualification (or equivalent).
  • 3-5 years of PQE years of related/practical legal experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing various types of agreements and legal documents.
  • Knowledge of the UK legal and regulatory environment.
  • Legal regulatory experience would be an asset but not required.
  • Experience in financial services and/or payments industries sectors would be an asset but not required.
