WHAT are the HOURS?

Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm.

WHAT Qualification will I GAIN?Level 2 AAT

· Introduction to bookkeeping

· Ethical standards

· Personal effectiveness

· Accounting systems and processes

· Principles of costing

HOW does the Apprenticeship work?

· 1-2-1 Monthly Sessions (via MS Teams) with a Skills Coach :

o Active Learning – you will be taught the Units (above) with the Qualification Programme

o Progress Reviews

· 6 hours a week Apprenticeship Study Time, to focus on:

o Hours are agreed with your manager, either split across the week, or on a set day

· Study and completion of ‘Certificate in Accounting’ (Mandatory Qualification) consisting of:

o 4 Modules , each takes approx. 2 months to complete

§ Principles of Bookkeeping Controls

§ Principles of Costing

§ The Business Environment

o You manage your own study time, how and when you study, and determine your own pace

o You will have access to a range of tools and resources:

o 1-2-1 Sessions with a Dedicated AAT Tutor

o Group Webinars

o Interactive online Enhanced Classrooms with BPP , including Pre-recorded Lectures

WHAT’S the ROLE?

This is a split role between Xero bookkeeping, management accounts, VAT, and general accounts preparation which will provide you with a variety of different skills.

DAY to DAY, you will….

· Support the bookkeeping team

· Gradually take on tasks including:

o Maintaining sales and purchase ledger

o Spreadsheet reports & reconciliations

o Checking supporting documents against invoices

o Completion of bank reconciliations

o Credit card and petty cash analysis, posting and reconciliations

o Preparation of management accounts

o Assisting in administration duties as and when required

Apprenticeships are very demanding; you’re working towards a qualification whilst working full time You’ll need to be committed and motivated as there is lots of self-guided work involved. PLUS, you need to have/be …..

· Fairly local to our office, say within 10 miles.

· Well-spoken, with excellent communication skills.

· Quick and enthusiastic learner.

· Willing to work hard.

· Excel experience: training courses are available, but basic functions and a keen interest to learn are ESSENTIAL .

· Basic bookkeeping understanding such as double entry and assets/liabilities/expenses/income are PREFERRED BUT CERTAINLY NOT ESSENTIAL .

· Ideally experience of working in an office, preferably in accounts.

· Good Attention to detail; we are heavily reliant on accurate cross referencing and record keeping.

· Good communicator; both spoken and written.

· Able to work under pressure at times and deliver results to a defined deadline.

· Able to work as a team as well as motivating yourself when working alone

ANYTHING ELSE?

· GCSE or equivalent English and Maths grade 5/B or above

· UK Residency (MUST have lived in the UK for 3 years+)
