Culture Guru is recruiting a Senior Sustainability Advisor who is pivotal in advancing sustainability across the Technical and Construction teams of a well-established and prestigious property development business.
This individual ensures that embodied carbon targets are achieved and waste is minimized at every project stage. By working closely with consultants and internal teams, they lead workshops, conduct site audits, and ensure compliance with sustainability goals.
♻️ They also collect and report data to highlight progress. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a broad network of sustainability professionals and contribute to cross-division projects focused on waste reduction and environmental management.
Conducting regular site visits to ensure compliance with internal standards and the Environmental Management System.
Collecting, analyzing, and reporting data on waste, water usage, and carbon emissions to evaluate progress against sustainability goals.
Collaborating with construction project teams to enhance site sustainability performance.
Developing guidance to help project teams effectively manage sustainability efforts.
Preparing detailed reports on sustainability performance across all sites.
Participating in meetings with the Sustainability team to review performance and discuss strategies.
Leading sustainability discussions during Design Team Meetings to minimize embodied carbon and construction waste.
Providing training and strategy updates to both construction and design teams.
Staying informed about the latest sustainability trends, legislation, and best practices to understand their potential impact on the business.
Taking a proactive role in improving performance by engaging with the management team and key stakeholders.
A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject (e.g. sustainability, environmental management).
~Understanding of energy efficiency and management.
~ Experience in data interpretation and reporting.
~ Knowledge of environmental management systems and chain of custody requirements.
~ Strong knowledge of sustainability issues in the construction and house-building industry, along with an understanding of environmental legislation, including waste duty of care.
~ Comprehensive understanding of sustainability, encompassing environmental, social, and economic impacts of our activities.
