LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

LOCATION: Glenrothes – Hybrid

40 HOURS PER WEEK Working: Monday – Friday.

EDUCATION : CIPD Level 5 certificate or equivalent

Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Learning and Development Specialist to create learning environments where employees can continuously develop to be their best and support learning priorities which drive organisation strategy and its future capability. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality training programmes that align with the organisation’s goals and employee development needs.Implementing learning initiatives that enable the organisation to constantly evolve and develop. The ideal candidate will excel at identifying the current and future skills requirements of the organisation and create flexible learning interventions to meet the diverse needs of the workforce. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fostering a culture of continuous learning and development, with a focus on enhancing employee skills, knowledge, and performance.

What you’ll be doing

  • Conduct thorough training needs assessments to identify the learning and development needs across the organisation.
  • Design blended learning solutions for example, digital, face to face, social collaborative learning, coaching, action learning sets, and so on.
  • Use digital tools to create flexible and innovative learning programmes.
  • Apply adult learning theories to ensure employees get the best out of their development.
  • Design a range of learning interventions, including technical, behavioural and leadership programmes, working with external partners where relevant.
  • Deliver core learning content, including induction, regulatory, soft skills, and management development.
  • Identify learning and development needs across the organisation working closely with HRBP’s and other key stakeholders across to continuously evolve the learning initiatives and curriculum.
  • Collaborate with the Global Learning and Development Manager to support global learning initiatives.
  • Create instructional materials, such as manuals, guides, and multimedia presentations.
  • Utilise various instructional techniques to accommodate different learning styles and preferences.
  • Assess the effectiveness of training programs through evaluations, surveys, and feedback.
  • Continuously improve training content and methods based on participant feedback and organisational needs.
  • Manage and maintain Europe’s LMS modules, ensuring all content is up-to-date and accessible.
  • Drive a culture of continuing professional development (CPD).
  • Facilitate learning interventions.
  • Create a coaching culture in the organisation.
  • Plan, schedule, deliver, and report on training, ensuring quality and effectiveness measures are met. Track and report on training attendance, completion rates, and other key metrics.
  • Support the development of individual learning plans for employees to enhance their skills and career growth.
  • Provide coaching and support to employees and managers on performance improvement and career development.
  • Ensure all training programmes comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Manage and track employee certifications and continuing education requirements.
  • Work closely with external suppliers/ providers to coordinate training efforts and resources.
  • Communicate the value and importance of learning and development initiatives to all stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in learning and development.
  • Recommend and implement new learning strategies, technologies, and methodologies to enhance the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Support, contribute and where appropriate lead, on HR related projects to add value to the business.
  • Assist with other HR administrative tasks as required.

What you’ll have:

  • CIPD level 5 or equivalent qualification in Organisational Learning and Development – preferred.
  • Proven track record in managing the complete learning cycle, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating learning in a professional skills environment.
  • Strong planning and project management skills with experience in managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in e-learning software (e.g., Articulate, Captivate) and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions.
  • Experience with virtual training tools and technologies.
  • Adaptability and willingness to embrace change.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
  • A keen eye for attention to detail.
