Job Summary: As a Junior Research Analyst, you will be an integral part of our research initiatives, collaborating closely with senior analysts and project teams. Your role will involve conducting both primary and secondary research, performing media analysis, and transforming data into compelling narratives. You will contribute to message testing, brand studies, sentiment analysis, and thought leadership projects, all while honing your data analytical and storytelling skills.


Salary: £26,000 p/a


Work Environment: This is a hybrid role that requires 2 days in the office in East Grinstead, West Sussex, an hour south of London. The remaining 3 days can be worked from anywhere in the UK. After 6 months, the role can transition to fully remote UK working based on performance and trust.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct Comprehensive Research:

● Collaborate with Research Analysts and Project Managers on research projects, including survey design, survey link testing, data tables, text response coding, and data visualization.

● Draft research content to be developed into full assets with the project team.

● Execute secondary desk research to gather relevant insights and information.

● Lead small research studies with guidance from senior analysts.

2. Media Insights and Analysis:

● Assist in media audits to analyse brands’ media coverage.

● Identify influential voices and sentiment within media discussions.

● Capture brand-related conversations and trends to inform the primary research.

3. Data-to-Narrative Transition:

● Prepare data for analysis through data quality checks and structuring.

● Analyse research data and convert findings into preliminary narratives.

● Craft draft narratives outlining key insights and trends for further analysis.

● Collaborate with senior analysts to refine narratives.

4. Quality Assurance:

● Ensure accuracy, coherence, and adherence to writing style in draft narratives and reports.

● Review reports, charts, and tables for data, grammatical correctness and consistency.

5. Client-Focused Communication:

● Assist in drafting client communication, including emails and presentations.

● Participate in client calls, helping to articulate insights and address questions.

6. Thought Leadership and Innovation:

● Contribute to the development of innovative research methodologies and approaches.

● Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in market research and data analytics.

Career Progression:

● A successful Junior Research Analyst will typically remain in the role for 6 months to 1 year before being promoted to a Research Analyst. With this promotion comes a salary increase to £28k and the possibility of ongoing promotion and salary increases.


What We’re Looking For:

● Attitude: Intellectual curiosity, a passion for research and helping brands be a force for good.

● Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in any field but social sciences, maths preferred

● Skills:

  • Strong statistical, data, and analytical skills.
  • Q, R software, SPSS or other data software experience.
  • Superior report writing and client presentation skills, with an emphasis on writing that distils complex data into a clear storytelling narrative and recommendations.
  • Experience creating visually well designed PowerPoint data slides
  • Experience writing for business
  • High level of personal initiative, organization and time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and respond to urgent requests.
