Outline:
As a Financial Accountant at EPUK, you will play a key role in maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing valuable insights to support business decisions. You will work closely with the finance team to streamline financial processes, conduct financial analysis, and contribute to the overall financial health of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts, working closely with various departments to ensure financial targets are met.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to accounting principles.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer collections.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and manage the company's tax reporting and filing requirements.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks, and provide recommendations for cost-saving and profit optimization.
- Auditing and Compliance: Coordinate and support annual financial audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Cash Management: Manage daily cash flow, working capital, and investment decisions to optimize liquidity.
- Financial Systems: Collaborate with the IT department to improve and enhance financial systems and reporting tools.
- Financial Process Improvement: Continuously review and refine financial processes and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the finance team and other departments to provide financial information and support for decision-making.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's or professional accounting qualification is a plus).
Proven experience as a Financial Accountant or similar role.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in financial software and tools, with advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance.
Previous experience in the engineering or manufacturing industry is a plus.
Additional certification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA etc.) is a plus.
