Barchester's finance team have a new opportunity for a Capital Accountant to join our established team. This key role will be responsible for the co-ordination, control, and production of financial information for the Group capital expenditure function.
With a rapidly expanding portfolio of care homes and hospitals across the UK, this role is key to supporting the continued commercial success of more than 260 care homes across the country.

Required experience, skills and knowledge:
Qualified accountant (CA/ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent
Previous experience working for a multi-site organisation preferred
Able to work under pressure and to deadlines, with strong communication skills
Experience working with internal systems and Microsoft Office

Role and responsibilities:
Management of the Barchester CapEx approval system and the Capital Team
Ensuring appropriate financial controls and procedures are in place regarding payment of capital invoices
Upkeep and amendments to Group Fixed Asset Registers including disposals and capitalisation of motor vehicles
Preparation of Fixed Asset Grids
Financial management of the major capital projects including new developments
Overseeing the preparation of the Group capital budgets
Weekly reporting of the capital budget reports to Operational Teams
Monthly preparation of the Capital & Development Reports
Accounting for annual property revaluations
Preparation of the fixed asset disclosures for the statutory accounts
Oversee the preparation of information for CapEx Committee meetings
Prepare information for and liaise with external audit and tax teams
Completion of Capital Expenditure National Statistics Returns
