Role Overview
As a Platform Engineer specializing in Azure, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and managing our cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with development, operations, and security teams to create a robust platform that supports the organization's financial applications and services. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast paced, regulated environment where your contributions directly impact the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain highly available and scalable cloud infrastructure using Microsoft Azure.
- Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to optimize system performance and ensure seamless integration.
- Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to maintain platform reliability.
- Ensure compliance with financial services security regulations and best practices, focusing on risk management and resilience.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM templates, or Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Support the migration of legacy systems to the cloud, ensuring minimal disruption to business processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform and infrastructure issues in a timely manner.
- Work in an Agile environment to deliver high quality solutions in a collaborative and iterative manner.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Several years of experience in a Platform Engineer or Cloud Engineer role, preferably within the financial services, banking or scaleup sectors.
- Expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud services, including but not limited to Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS), Azure App Services, and Azure Storage.
- Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools such as Terraform, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, or Bicep.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or similar tools.
- Solid understanding of networking, security best practices, and governance in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of financial industry regulations, including PCI DSS, GDPR, and other relevant compliance standards.
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a highly regulated, fast paced environment.
- Experience with cloud migration projects.
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and multi-cloud strategies.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or Azure DevOps Engineer.
