WAREHOUSE & LOGISTICS MANAGER

PERMANENT | LIVERPOOL - L33


We are currently seeking a Warehouse & Logistics Manager to join our head office in Liverpool. The successful candidate will ensure the effective control and management of the warehouse and logistics department within their area of responsibility and will be responsible for ensuring standards are maintained for health and safety, quality and productivity.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and manage end-to-end logistics, including the receipt of raw materials, inventory management, and the dispatch of finished goods (UK & Ireland, Europe and deep-sea export). Ensuring operational efficiency across the production environment.
  • Coordinate the movement of materials between warehouses, production lines, and external locations, ensuring timely and accurate availability of goods to meet production schedules.
  • Supervise and lead warehouse and logistics teams, acting as the primary point of contact for all team members, and ensure seamless collaboration with production, planning and other departments.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive training plans for new and existing employees, ensuring they possess the necessary expertise in warehouse operations and logistics processes.
  • Monitor the performance of warehouse and logistics staff, conducting regular evaluations to identify training needs and improve team productivity.
  • Oversee accurate documentation and reporting of all inventory movements, transfers, and logistics processes, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely issuance of raw materials to production lines, proactively managing inventory to prevent production delays.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse and logistics processes, focusing on speed, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards and procedures.
  • Organize and supervise periodic cycle counts and stock takes, ensuring inventory accuracy and investigating discrepancies where necessary.
  • Take responsibility for all national and international dispatches, managing the entire process on the system and ensuring compliance with dispatch and shipping regulations.
  • Ensure timely and correct physical and system transfers of all materials, coordinating closely with the production team to meet production goals.
  • Verify that all dispatch paperwork is accurate, attached to the correct product or pallet, and properly signed by the responsible parties before shipment.


EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of two years' experience in a supervisory role within a production-focused warehouse or logistics environment, with a strong understanding of the integration between logistics and production processes.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (experience with Priority ERP preferred).
  • Experience of SOP (standard operation procedure) and WI (work instruction) creation and revision.
  • Proven leadership, team management, and motivational skills, with a track record of improving warehouse/logistics processes within a production environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and production targets.


PACKAGE

  • Hours: 37.5 Hours per week, Monday – Friday
  • Salary: Commensurate to the role
