Job Title: Head of Operations and Finance

Location: Devon (hybrid) - please only apply if you can commute to the office in Devon twice per week, this is not a fully remote role



About Us: We are a pioneering smart green tech startup dedicated to driving sustainable innovation. We're looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of Finance to join our leadership team and guide our financial strategy.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Financial Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies that support the company’s growth and sustainability goals.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the preparation and management of budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation of accurate financial statements, forecasts, and reports for stakeholders.
  • Fundraising: Collaborate with the executive team to secure funding, manage investor relations, and ensure optimal capital structure.
  • Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Operational Efficiency: Streamline financial operations and processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Work closely with other departments to align financial planning with business operations and strategic goals.
  • Sustainability Focus: Integrate financial planning with the company’s sustainability initiatives, ensuring financial decisions support green objectives.



Qualifications:


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Head of Finance or similar role in a tech startup environment, preferably within the green tech sector.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong knowledge of corporate financial law, risk management, and financial analysis.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to develop strategic financial plans and contribute to business strategy.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficient in financial software and tools; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Sustainability Passion: Deep understanding of and commitment to sustainability and green technologies.
  • An early stage start up experience is essential.
