JOB POSITION: Piping Calculation/Stress Engineer on site.


KEY INFORMATION:


  • From 6 to 10 years of experience,
  • Science, Mechanical degree,
  • First experience in Civil Work and Steel structures design and constructions activities,
  • Coordination, open point, problem solving...,
  • Knowledge of Eurocodes, PIPESTRESS / AutoPIPE, ANSYS,
  • Experience in the Energy industry (Oil&Gas, petrochemical, reffinery, offshore...).

LOCATION: Bridgewater, On-site.


EXPERTISE:


  • Making clarifications of the deliverables necessary for the construction with the help of the Back Office who carried out the studies (Bristol and France – Malakoff / Tours),
  • Gathering input data, analysing / updating hypothesis notes and loading description reports,
  • Performing mechanical stresses analyses: piping flexibility calculations and calculation of piping supports, analyzing the mechanical behavior of the piping network with respect to the codified criteria, proposing appropriate and proportionate modifications in case the sizing criteria are not met,
  • Closing of open points and comments,
  • Assessing and answering technical issues arising during manufacturing, construction works, erection,
  • Assessing and integrating modification coming from the stakeholders after packages handed-over to site,
  • Doing some hand calculations and running anchorages macros to assess the feasibility of modification,
  • Checking calculation notes and guide drawings subcontracted to external companies,
  • Proposing improvements for the studies not finalized,
  • Maintaining QA procedures in delivering the design,
  • Working with CAD designers/detailers in the preparation of the design drawings,
  • Leading technical meetings with suppliers or any other necessary support entities,
  • Interfacing with several stakeholder In a near future, the Mechanical Engineer could also be in charge of coordinating the activities related to anchorages. Thus he will be the entry point in site side and will be responsible to interface with all the stakeholders.
