Job Purpose:

To service the international markets with prices for metal ceilings and architectural metalwork in an accurate and timely manner. Maximising profit within every opportunity, taking into account the commercial strengths and weaknesses. Accurate costing and recording useful data for the business.


Main Responsibilities:

Key Activities/Elements

Total:80%

  • Carry out material take offs from architects’ drawings to produce schedules of components. 20%
  • Support international business functions with technical and market pricing knowledge 10%
  • Produce detailed and accurate estimates suitable for each market. 20%
  • Manage workload and business priorities 5%
  • Triage enquiries and ensure all relevant information has been presented 10%
  • Understand manufacturing methods and costs. 10%
  • To develop and maintain a good working knowledge of product range, project history and a general understanding of the construction and property industry. 5%


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education level and/or relevant experience(s)


Knowledge and skills

  • A proven background of carrying out take offs from architects’ drawings.
  • A good understanding of manufacturing.
  • Experience in manging complex bids.


Other requirements

  • Computer literate – with a good knowledge of all Microsoft applications
  • Strong communication (verbal and written)
  • Must be deadline and detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Customer focused.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities, organised and methodical


General Responsibilities: 20%

  • Undertaking of any project within the skill set of the position.
  • Undertaking of business trips as and when required.
  • To undertake any reasonable request from Directors, Managers, Supervisors, and other members of staff.
